A few pictures from our visit to Utrecht
These pics document the result of our first project, Audible Aerotopia, which went from the Efteling theme park (Mar 5), to the speaker box (Jan 29) and eventually led to this quaint street, the Hygieastraat.
It was a small, thin street that connected a busy square filled with school kids+playground with a loud main street with trams+cars. The street, however, was very quiet and peaceful and saw a lot of thoroughfare from people going to work or bringing their kids to school. We created these paper listening devices in order to bring attention to the sounds of the quiet street that most regular passers-by might not notice. Some of the devices worked better than others. The real impact was in the visual quality of the huge paper forms. Pavlov’s theory, but with sound.
These are late to be posted, but I spent my first week of school at The Efteling, a theme park about 2 hours away from Amsterdam. We rode coasters for 4 days!
These are the last ones of Cologne.
I had to include the disgruntled garden gnome.
